Sorry that I haven't updated this Post recently but here is the latest update.

I've just sent an email to Andrew Hogben about the issue as follows:

Hi Andrew,

With respect to the flooding issue that we reported at City View, Erdington, Birmingham.

Someone, I can only assume Coftons piled up stones on the verge with what I can only assume to be an attempt to stop the overflowing rainwater coming onto the public path and properties.

These stones are now seem to be recreation for the local children and are being thrown onto the path and to be frankly honest, do not and cannot stop the overflow of water. In addition they are an eye-sore.

I would appreciate your feedback.

It seems that someone has created a mound of little stones to help stop the water flowing over.

<img src="http://www.karavadra.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/little-stones-flood-protection.jpg"/>

As my wife considered, let's hope it was the kids playing, as water will simply flow through these stones and this creation looks quite ghastly.

Andrew turned up yesterday together with a guy from Coftons. I was lucky to be their when they cam to have a look and had a chance to tell them about the issue and show the above video to them to demonstrate what was happening.

Andrew said that they would hopefully have a solution to the water buildup and overflow onto the properties.

Well, Andrew did call back today and he said that he will be dealing with the matter and especially with Coftons as they have not handed over the park to the Council yet.

As I said to Andrew, when Coftons' workmen where creating the mound of earth at the end of the park I told them that this won't resolve the rainwater issue as it will simply collect at the bottom of the hill and that's what seems to have happened. The hospital road is now protected, which I believe is why they were creating this mound of earth but the properties at City View are now at risk.

Anyway, I must thank you Andrew for calling back and taking some responsibility for the matter.

I received a voicemail this morning from Birmingham City Council Parks Department and the lady said she had spoken to the Constituency Parks Manager and that the park has not been handed over by the developer (Coftons) to the Council.

However, she said that she has spoken to Andy Hogben who handles landscaping of new developments and that he would call me back.

Thank you to Hazel from Birmingham City Council for getting back so promptly to my email to publichealth@birmingham.gov.uk. I'm sorry I couldn't take the telephone numbers of the appropriate departments that you mentioned. I hope to hear back from you tomorrow as you said.
Note: Now I'm back in front of the computer and ready, I've been trying to call you but you seem to be busy.
