I had a feeling the other day to provide personal training on the above technologies but before I did I was waiting to release a new site which uses the technologies to prove my skills and experience.

However, this morning I felt like just letting you know now, and I’ll update this post with more information and the “demo” site details as soon as I can.

In the meantime, if you want personal tuition on PHP, MySQL, JavaScript and AJAX, then please contact me with details of what you want to learn to do or create and think of a small project that would be good to use as a real example of something to create using the above technoligies (e.g. a PHP post form).

Please note that you should have at least some basic knowledge of HTML and uploading and testing code to servers, otherwise I may not be the right person to work with.

On many occasions when we go to India, we get our spectacles and lenses made at our favourite opticians.

We pay very little compared to the price we paid in the U.K. which was admittedly a few years ago.

The workmanship isn’t as great as the U.K. but the spectacles and lenses are good but more importantly they WORK which is more important and even if the spectacles break or we simply desire a new pair for whatever reason, it still works out cheaper than getting new spectacles and lenses in the U.K.

Now, my mother’s spectacle frame has broken and we’re all in the U.K., so I’m going to test acquiring a replacement frame for the existing bi-focal lenses or get a new frame and new bi-focal lenses.

So, I’ve written a covering letter and enclosed the broken spectacles and put them into a jiffy bag to send to India, which I will do on Monday.

I assume it will take about 3 weeks to get the new pair of spectacles back due it taking about 5 days for post to get to and from India from the U.K. This may seem like a long delay, but I remember not too many years back waiting such periods in the UK and paying quite a lot for the product.

This could be good business opportunity for me in providing low cost spectacles and lenses in the U.K., or for someone else already in the spectacles industry who wants to provide low cost products to people who need glasses.

The parcel goes out on Monday, as I just went to post it but the post office was closed.

I’ll keep you in touch of progress.

I have just had a conversation with a contributor on the Set Forever forums about getting information published about a Project I am considering supporting on Set Forever.

The trouble I have had in making it a live Project on Set Forever is that I, and you, both need more information about it to get a better feel for it.

Sometimes, when wanting to get interest in what you are doing or what you want to do. Such interest can only come when people get a feel for you and what you are doing, or want to do. This can best happen with dialogue and information which eventually instills a favourable belief in what you are doing, or at worst non-belief. Either way, you know where you stand. People believe in what you are doing so you know what you are doing may be supported by others, or they do not believe in what you are doing which is also OK because then you can, through questions, answers and feedback, get a feel of what you need to “correct” to get people interested again.

However, without creating dialogue or publishing information about “your story”, people simply cannot get a feel about what you are doing or want to do.

Sometimes, you cannot be “bothered” which such dialogues or publishing of information because you know in your mind that you know what you are doing, BUT OTHER PEOPLE DON’T, and if you want others “on board” then you have to create a picture or story for them that they can understand. They are not you and they have not been through what you have in your ENTIRE life to get to the point where you believe in something so much that you want to DO IT.

In such a scenario, if you need other people’s support, and when you really want to do it, then you are going to have to tell them almost everything that you know so that they can “catch-up” and get to your “level” of thinking and belief.

Whether it’s an idea or project for business or personal reasons, you need to realise that other people simply do not know what you know and if you want others to help you in anyway you need to let them KNOW.

So get your story out, Blog it, Forum It, Flyer It, Brochure It, Poster It, Newspaper It, Magazine It, Email It, Website It, Tell A Friend It, Tell your Family It, Tell your neighbor It, Tell your Community It, Tell Your Club It, Billboard It, Television It, Radio It, Magazine It, Book It, eBook it, Business Card It, and do whatever else it takes to get your story and idea out. Somebody will be interested!

As you may or may not know, I develop websites and if you want a web solution to get your business or personal idea OUT THERE then let me know because I can do it for you and also tell you how to do it yourself.

We had a flood this morning in the ground floor hallway.

If it wasn’t for Dan and Caroline (our neighbours) being on their way to work and waking me up so that I could switch off the water tap, the whole of our ground floor could have been flooded.

Dan and I managed to sweap up most of the water but the carpet was soaking wet and so we simply folded it so that the water was contained and that water damage was minimised to walls.

This all happened about 8.00am in the morning and we tried calling CPM/RMG but their lines where not open till 9.30, but Dan managed to get through at about 9.30am.

Firstly, we do not have a 24 hour number to call for such emergencies and when Dan asked CPM/RMG about this issue, CPM/RMG told him that our block (of apartments) was not covered with 24 hour insurance. Well, it was before, so Dan asked why we had not been told and CPM/RMG told Dan that they would refer this to their local Property Manager (Chris Jones) after he came back from holiday.

Dan was told that in the meantime, a Paul Russell at CPM/RMG was dealing with the matter.

Anyway, Tom Gold from a plumbing company turned up at about midday and told me that the electrics seem to be “fried” and that until they had been fixed he could not look at any plumbing issues.

Tom said that he would call CPM/RMG and ask them to call me back as to when an electrican would come.

It is now 6.25pm and nobody has called.
