450 Trees Planted (with a success rate of 99.33%).

After the water channels were dug by the JCB, we [my team and about 8 labourers] planted 450 trees mostly around the perimeter wall of the farm.

We were kindly shown by the seller of the trees how to plant them and we were advised that we would know if the trees had taken to the new soil within a few days, as otherwise they would start drying out.

The JCB Is Back – This Time Making Water Channels For Farming

I hired a JCB again.

This time to make water channels mainly around the perimeter for the farm and some other perimeter areas to create water channels.

The well in the corner will provide water to the whole farm using the channels, so we needed to make sure that the channels were dug at the correct levels for the water to reach the opposite part of the farm to where the well is.

Land Being Farmed Properly After Many Years

It has been many years since a piece of land has been farmed properly, with the main reason being that there was not a perimiter wall to stop stary animals, no accomodation for farmers and the wells on the land had caved in.

A Place To Manage Land

With all the time and effort put into building the well and the perimeter wall for the land, I thought a little bit more effort in building a modest temporary home /shelter / storage place on the land (complete with washroom and toilet) would not go amiss.

Perimeter Wall & Gate

The land I’ve been developing in India was intended to be used for seeding and harvesting crops.

So when I started to get the well developed on the land, I though it best to build a perimeter wall to stop stray and wild animals from entering the land and eating or at least trampling on the crops.
