List of Crawlers & Bots, and their I.P. Addresses.

I use some code to identify crawlers and bots on TheInterPost so that they do not get included in the usage stats on the Research page. This way only human visits are counted in the stats.

No Water Supply In Birmingham

The water supply stopped this morning about 9am and it’s been off since.

I asked the neighbours if they were experiencing the same thing and if they had been given a notice about the water being cut off for any reason – Yes and No were the respective answers, so I called Severn Trent Water to find out what was happening and got an recorded message about there being an issue in the Birmingham area and that engineers were looking into it.

Tax-free ISA savings allowance – AN INCREASE.
The new ISA allowance is £10,200, £5,100 of which can be saved in a cash ISA, meaning you can save £3000 more each year, without paying any tax on the interest.

List Of Continents And Countries

Whilst developing a new publishing site, I thought I’d need a list of continents and countries to put in the mysql database that runs the publishing site to help locate people.

I researched the Internet for a while but did not find what I wanted until a few days ago whilst looking at a site for a totally different reason and came acrtossa list of continents and sub-countries by accident.

MySQL Database Country Code Table SQL With ISO 3166 1 and 2 Country Codes

I am developing a new posting/publishing site and had to find and create a MySQL Database Table to manage names and abbreviations of all the countries of the world.

It took a while searching through the web but I found a few sources and then created my own MySQLlist of countries of countries and their ISO codes.

Windows 7 Works!

I spent a few hours yesterday backing up my Vista system so that I can re-install it if the new Windows 7 system did not work for me.

Today, I installed Windows 7 with a hope that it would be a bit faster, less clunky and more “do what you’d expect from an upgrade from Windows XP”
