Thank You to Malde & Tara……for inviting me to your wedding registry today. |
Being On Top: But Not All Of The Time!I wrote some management code for The InterPost which helped to send email reminders to users when Posts where expiring and to manage the Research page which showed what people were most recently looking for on search engines and then coming to The InterPost. I found out that the code recently slowed done the whole site and user experience. |
Free PDF CreatorI have had the need to create PDF’s for many years but only ever knew of Adobe’s Set of Software. I tried many versions of Adobe’s software and always found them a bit heavy on my computer (slowed it down) and on the mind (there seemed to be more features than I needed). |
You Control Your Own Business, Not Your Suppliers.A new client of mine sent me an email with respect to making a payment for some work that I did for them. My client told me that they had difficulty in convincing their accountant that they had to pay for my work. The first thing that came to my mind, is “Who is running your company? You or your accountant?”. Then my client stated that “I was able to push for the payment simply because I had initially agreed it.” Then what came to my mind, is the thought why you would have to push a payment if you (the boss/owner) had initally agreed to pay it. My Client: “If the truth be known I had difficulty trying to convince our accountant that we had to pay you for studying a programme before we could teach our staff how to use it. I was able to push for the payment simply because I had initially agreed it verbally with you so I agreed to pay the remainder of the invoice out of my own pocket as our accountant cannot justify the cost for you learning something.” Again, I say: Who runs your business, you or someone else! |
4 Things You Probably Never Knew Your Mobile Phone Could Do.I got sent the following information by email from a friend and client. I knew about the 4th point but the first three are quite amazing. Update on 19 May 2008: After a couple of months of waiting for feedback -my initial instincts were correct - a lot of the points seem not to be true, I’ll leave this Post here anyway as a lesson to be learnt about your instincts. I really did think that most of the points could not be true when I originally received this email but I kept an open mind and after publishing the information and thought I’d simply wait for feedback about it and most of the feedback I received was in line with what I thought. So when you’re instincts tell you something and especially when you feel strongly about them, go with them! |
