A few years ago, I experienced what I can only now best describe as a downward spiral in my life and everything (and I mean everything) was going wrong. People close to me were dying (and they did die), my work was not serving my clients’ real needs nor myself in terms of personal satisfaction, my financial outlook was dim, my relationships were almost non-existent (I was arguing with people most of the time and distancing people), and everything I tried to do went wrong and everything I had was going wrong or breaking down.

Being a logical thinker and solutions orientated, I tried to work out what was going wrong but the things that were going on in my life simply did not make any logical sense and when I pushed myself to find a solution or explanation for what was happening and how to resolve it, I couldn’t and kept finding myself at a virtual brick wall but I strongly believed that there was a truth to what was going on that I was not seeing.

Since I can remember (back to the age of about 7) I have felt and believed that there was a truth that there was something behind the scenes of the reality of life that we experience on a day to day basis, but I did not know what it was, what is was there for, or when it would become a part of my life. I just knew it was there. These thoughts and feelings re-surfaced in varying strengths over many years but I never looked for or found any glimpse of an answer until recently.

I felt that life was becoming unfair to me and especially considering that I knew and truly believed that I was a good person, life was becoming unfair for no good reason. That’s all I had going for me and never let go of this thought and tried to keep my patience as much as possible waiting for the day my nightmare would end.

The negative experiences continued and then one day in early October 2007, I lost my patience and banged my fists on my desk and said to myself, in the loudest way possible that I can perceive anyone can shout in their head, “I want my life back”.

I did not say these words to anyone in particular. The only way I can describe it now is that it was a cry out to the universe, be it only in my head. I think I stopped working at that point and probably went outside for a cigarette and a few beers to try to forget about everything and then went to sleep.

I woke up the next morning to get on with my work and only because I had client projects to help deliver, otherwise I would have done something quite drastic.

I got one client project to a certain stage and then called him to discuss what I had done and to discuss what we required to do next. To date, I do not remember if we talked about the project at all in that conversation. The only thing I remember is him asking me if I had seen a certain film, the subject of which was nothing to do with the project or our recent conversations. I replied “No” to his question, but for some reason the title of the film, and mysterious nature of the conversation, intrigued me from very deep within myself. My client continued the conversation by describing the film but my mind still could not make any sense of what the film was about.

Usually in such a situation I would have been polite and said something like “thank you for the information” and then steered the conversation back to the project. However, something in me wanted me to see the film and my client said that he would send me a copy if I was interested in watching it. Again, something inside me urged me to get it and not by receiving a copy of it. I felt that I had to buy it and so I got online and purchased the film. It came a few days later and I watched it with my then wife.

The film was truly amazing and at end of it, I cried and at the time I did not realise it but I did so a few days later that it was a cry of joy. My belief in there being a bigger truth than that I and most people on this planet experience on day to day was introduced to me, but something in me still believed that there was more to the truth than what was conveyed in the film. So I maintned my belief in their being more to know and applied what I learned in the film and found other missing parts of the truth which I believed existed.

For the past few of years I have since read many printed and digital books, listened to many audio programmes and watched many videos to understand my life, life and the reality of life and I believe I have received enough information for me to deal with my current perception/stage of life and to now apply more of what I have learned of the truth rather than do more searching.

For now I want to tell you about what I now believe through direct personal experience;

There seem to be 5 perceptions/stages to the reality of life (for human beings anyway).

As I have personally experienced all 5 perceptions/stages (be it in modest amounts) and have not experienced even the smallest glimpse of anything else which could be titled as another perception/stage for about 6 months since writing this article (30th August 2009), I feel that is it time to share my experiences so that you can review your own perceptions of life whilst I get on with applying what I have learned and perhaps documenting and publishing my findings.

The 5 perceptions/stages I have experienced so far and that I can best describe at the moment are as follows (in future, I will try to clarify the wording as much as I can and when the clarity comes):

1)You are not in control:
You are experiencing everything and everyone in your life because of the power of everything and everyone else in your life. (i.e. You are experiencing something or someone because of this or that reason).
(Summary: VICTIM)
At the time of being introduced to and experiencing this perception/stage of life I thank my birth to the universe and my parents (Savdas Meraman Karavadra and Rambhi Savdas Karavadra, and my “history”).

2)You are determined:
You can see what’s happening in life and have the experiences and skills or can ask for help, get advice or learn new skills that give you the power to communicate or perform physical actions to change what you are experiencing. (i.e. You can do something to change what you are experiencing).
(Abbreviation: DETERMINED)
At the time of being introduced to and experiencing this perception/stage of life I thank my will.

3)You have power:
You can attract things and people into your life to make a difference in what you are experiencing without taking direct action. (i.e. You can intend [think of] something happening and it happens to change your experience without you taking direct related actions).
(Abbreviation: EMPOWERED)
At the times of being introduced to and experiencing this perception/stage of life I thank my grandparents (Mr Meraman Hadha Ranmal & Mrs Lakibhen Meraman Ranmal) and Rhonda Byrne.

4)You know there is a greater power:
You have power to create experiences but you do not know why you are experiencing some things or people in your life and you surrender to a greater force to change your experiences for you. (i.e. You admit you don’t know why your power is still creating negative experiences in your life, as well as the positive, and surrender to a greater power to create better experiences).
(Abbreviation: SURRENDERED)
At the times of being introduced to and experiencing this perception/stage of life I thank Eckhart Tolle, Dr. Joe Vitale and Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len.

5)You know that you are the power:
You know that you are and have the potential to create everything and everyone you experience including yourself. (i.e. You know that there is no need to change anything because you are creating everything that you experience. You are the creator.)
(Abbreviation: AWAKENED)
At the times of being introduced to and experiencing this perception/stage of life I thank Eckharte Tolle, Dr. Joe Vitale, Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len and Robert Scheinfeld.

On publishing this article on Sunday 30th August 2009, I perceive life from the (4)SURRENDERED perspective with a glimpses of (5) AWAKENED and playful attempts at (3)EMPOWERED, memories of (1) VICTIMHOOD and renewal of(2) DETERMINED

I hope to write more about the topics in this article in future and also about my findings of applying what I have learned.

To interact sooner, please let me know what your own perception/stage of life is at the moment and how you feel about it by using the poll & vote and comments sections below and I will reply as soon as I can. Alternatively you can contact me directly using the contact link on the top menu.

This post contains acopy of correspondence sent to Chris Jones CPM/RMG (Birmingham) andcopied to a few other people at CPM/RMG and others involved and interested in this matter.

Hi Chris,

With regards to your point 1 below:

1) As stated in my letter to you on 28/02/2008, 09/04/2008 and 29/08/08, our Credit Control Department have stated that the Property Debt Collection charges were placed on to your account on 31st January 2007 and 25th September 2007 for late payment of the service charge for 2006 and 2007 respectively and will not be removed.

I acknowledge what you are stating but it still dot make sense to me why we have an outstanding balance of 160.28.

Let me explain:

We have a letter from our solicitors (dated 19th May 2008 see attached file 2008-05-19-solicitors.pdf ) which states that the ONLY sum outstanding was for debt collection fees of 146.88 claimed by Property Debt Collection Ltd on 27th June 2007 at which point neither statements nor invoices had been delivered to our address (because you had the wrong address on file) despite our requests to let CPM/RMG know of our actual address with letters sent on 3 April 2006 (almost 15 months before the claim was made) AND on 1 June 2006 AND on 28 May 2007.

At this point you should note that approximately 4 debt collection fees were put onto our account as CPM/RMG were sending correspondence to the wrong address. CPM/RMG acknowledged the error and removed ALL but this one 146.88 debt collection fee even though this ONE fee was added to our balance at a time where correspondence was being sent to the wrong address:

QUESTION 1 :
Can you please explain why CPM/RMG have not removed this ONE debt collection fee that has been added to our account because CPM/RMGs correspondence was being sent to the wrong address, and especially considering that ALL OTHER debt collection fees have been removed due to CPM/RMG sending correspondence to the wrong address?

We then received a statement on 1st Sept 2008 (see attached file 2008-09-01-cpm-rmg.pdf ) which showed a balance of 160.28.

So, from having an incorrect balance of 146.88, it had increased by 13.40 for no apparent reason.

I questioned this balance of 160.28 and I received a letter from YOU which states what you have stated in point 1 of your email (as above and below) but it was not explained how the additional 13.40 was derived.

QUESTION 2 :
How has an incorrect balance of 146.88 increased by 13.40 for no apparent reason?

I wrote again to re-explain and I received a letter from Sally Edwards at CPM/RMG (see attached file 2008-09-11-cpm-rmg.pdf ) with the same statement as above highlighting 2 debt recover costs of 146.88 each which total to 293.76 which does not equal the incorrect balance of 160.28.

So now, now not only has the original 146.88 charge not been removed, but it has increased to 160.28 which is accounted for by CPM/RMG by 2 debt collection fees totalling 293.76 which do not actually equal the incorrect balance of 160.28.

QUESTION 3 :
Can you see why CPM/RMGs correspondence about this matter does NOT make any sense to me and why I believe the incorrect balance of 160.28 needs to be removed, and also can you explain why you believe it should not be removed?

A copy of this email can be found on my online project at
http://www.karavadra.net/blog/category/my-work-clients/the-mall-2-erdington/cpm-rmg/

I will reply to your others points (as below) as soon as I can.

Thank you and please accept my best wishes to you and yours Forever,
Bharat Karavadra

I recently purchased Joe Vitale’s Attractor Factor (2nd Edition) from Audible.co.uk with the intention of using it on my Sony Walkman which plays MP3 files.

To download the audio I had to install Audible’s Download Manager and Media Manager which I found a bit strange as I thought MP3 audio files were MP3 audio files and could simply be downloaded and used as one desired.

After downloading the file I found that this was not the case. The download was one huge 92MB file with a .AA extension. Having worked in software development for over 25 years I was quite surprised to come across a file extension that I had not seen before. And before you ask, I did not get excited about it, just surprised.

Anyway, the next thing to do was to get the audio onto my Walkman, so I loaded the Audible Manager program and there it was; 1 huge 92MB 6 Hour 42 minute audio file. Where were the chapters?… was my first thought. I clicked around a bit but could not find the chapters and then thought that I was going off track.

You can add mobile devices to the Audible Manager so I clicked on the “Add New Device” Link and found that the program wanted to connect to Audible’s site to download a list of supported devices. So I clicked OK and a long list of devices came up. I thought “great”, the Walkman is most definitely going to be in there somewhere and I found only one relevant entry called “Sony Handhelds” which I thought was appropriate as my Walkman is a handheld.

I installed the Sony device entry and the device name appeared as “Sony CLIE Handheld”. Not knowing what CLIE was I simply assumed that it was some generic abbreviation for Sony handhelds.

I attached my Walkman to the USB port on my computer, clicked on the Sony CLIE Handheld device entry and waited for the available space pie graph in Audible Manager to show the available space. This did not happen. I tried clicking around Audible Manager a bit more but simply could not get it to “see” my Walkman.

So I thought I’d call Audible in the morning to see what I was doing wrong.

THE MORNING:
Sharply at 10:10am, shortly after Audible open their phone lines, I called the company and told them about my problem. As soon as they heard the word Sony Walkman, the support person’s voice got quite stern and said that THAT was the problem. Audible did not support Sony Walkman’s. Thinking this was quite odd as Sony Walkman’s are very popular, and tryingnot to be judgemental about what they supported, I told them that I specifically bought the audio to play on my Walkman and hence could I have a refund as the file was no use to me. That’s when the stern energy got stronger, and they said as I had downloaded the audio file they could not give me a refund but told me that I could write an audio CD of the file.

I wasn’t very happy about this as I only realised that the Walkman was not supported after I downloaded the file but according to Audible, that was that. I had to keep the file. They did give me a bit of advice – to contact Sony and ask them to let Audible support Walkman’s. Who’s business is Audible? Theirs or mine?

If I did not already know that I could convert a CD to MP3 format files then I would have really lost it with Audible as just before writing this article, I had a look at their site again and still can’t find anywhere on it that says they don’t support Sony Walkmans.

So if you’re having similar issues here’s the formula to convert Audible .AA files to MP3 files for free.

1) Make sure you have downloaded the .AA file onto your computer using the Audible Download Manager (I had v 6.6.0.0) and you have to install, if not already installed, the AudibleManager (I had v 5.5.0.0 ).

2) Install iTunes if you don’t have it installed already. ( I had v 8.0.1.11 )

3) Load iTunes, Go to the File Menu and click on “Add File to Libary” on the menu, then locate and open the .AA file.

4) Go to the “Recently Added” Menu item in the iTunes Playlists menu, and you should see your .AA file, perhaps with a cover thumbnail image. Click on it.

5) At the bottom right of the iTunes window you should see a Burn button. Click on it and you will see a pop-up “Burn Settings” box.

6) In the box, make sure you have “Audio CD” selected and then set any preferences you want for your Audio CD and then click the “Burn” button.

7) iTunes may say that you will be writing multiple CDs or words to that effect, simply agree and carry on.

8) Insert the blank CDs when iTunes requests them on the top message bar.

9) Once all the CDs have been written, download FreeRIP from http://www.freerip.com which is a Free CD ripping/conversion program, install and open it.

10) Now, as I had already set the encoding options on it which work great for me, I have simply put a snapshot of the settings below so that you can see what mine were compared to the default.

In FreeRIP go to the File menu, then Settings, then Options and click on the Encoding Tab and you should the default settings and mine are shown below.

NOTE: You may also want to go to the Output Tab and set where the MP3 files will be saved on your computer.

Once you have changed the settings, click OK.

11) Now simply insert each of your CDs and you will see the list of tracks appear in FreeRIP. Make sure they are all ticked and then go to the RIP menu and click on “Rip Selected Tracks to MP3″ and wait for the files to be converted and saved.

12) Repeat step 11 for each CD.

That’s it. If you have any feedback then leave a comment below.

Have fun.

This meant that I had to get all the pages re-registered with the major search engines.

When the pages names were changed the traffic to my site when down to about 10% (read this) as the old page names no longer existed.

It has take about three and a half weeks for me to get the same level of traffic back to my site.

So please beware and be cautious when you change the page names on your site, but in the meantime be happy! :)

I recently changed the way that WordPress (which runs this blog) creates page names of all the pages that it generates.

The new page naming convention will be better for me in the long term as when I now update a Post and especially its date, only the year is used in the name.

Previously, the full date was used and everytime I updated a Post and it’s date, the address of the Post changed. This was not good for search engine registration nor other site pages linking to this site, but changes to one or two pages didn’t make a lot of difference.

I set WordPress to now simply use the year.

So unless I bring a previously published article over to a new year (which should be infrequent compared to changing the day and month as well) then the page name will remain the same.

What does all this have to do with valuing the address of pages? Well… As the new setting in WordPress changed all the page names, I noticed that the traffic to the site went down to almost 10% of what it was before.

As I’ve decided to keep the new page naming convention, I can now only be patient whilst the search engines re-register the new named pages.

I’ve been through the loop of changing page names and loosing considerable traffic. Please learn from this.
