I’ve just installed the latest version of the WordPress Twenty Ten Theme as I thought it best to keep up to date as I have been using version 1.1 for many months or perhaps many years. I cannot remember.
I did not update the site with the latest theme on previous theme updatesas eveyr time I did try to, I had to re-do all my previous customisations and I simply got a bit tired of doing this.
I have now discovered that WordPress supports Child Themes that allow customisation of the main theme’s files in a different folder to that of the main theme so that when the theme is updated with new files, customised files are not lost.
